I liked John Hurt in the Day of the Doctor-then again, I've always enjoyed just about anything he's in

I'm still thinking John Hurt is actually The Valeyard.

I think everyone did but now I don't think he can be now, the valeyard is somewhere between the doctors twelfth and final incarnation

What about the events of Trial of a Time Lord? He was present for that so he could have been involved in the Time War.

Perhaps. I have seen The Night of the Doctor and my main concern is now taken care of.

Pretty sure that the Valeyard was created for the Time War.

I forsee a little Caligula-ish approach in this Doctor.

Wait a sec, wasn't McGann's Doctor the one who fought in the Time War? Or did Moffat retcon it when I wasn't looking? :P

Anyway, the picture's really nice, he looks really weary here :)

We assumed McGann fought in the time war, no one ever actually said he did :P

Um... the comics did. It's up to every fan whether it's canon or not, but it sure is for me :P

Wait so the the time war actually happened, it wasn't just Russell T Davis's idea?

Nope, it was covered in the comics and novels, though their canonicity is up for debate. From what I've seen the NuWho writers tend not to give a crap about it...

Ah your a realwhovian, a trueWhoian, and yes they kinda do but in fairness to them I think only if its been on tv, in an episode, or one movie in one case, can the writers really reference something
